.png) The Elevation Profile button
The Elevation Profile tool provides the ability to draw a line and view a profile of the line's elevation. Click this button to activate the tool (note that the button changes color to indicate that it is active). Next, click on the map to begin drawing the profile line. Click on the map as many times as necessary to define the line and then double-click to end the line. As an alternative, click on the map once to start the line, drag across the map to draw a free-form line, and then double-click to end the line. The Elevation Profile appears in the Tools panel. Click Reset to reset the results and click on the Elevation Profile tool again to deactivate it. For more info, see the Elevation Profile topic under Tools.
