Area Measurement

This tool calculates the area of a polygon drawn on the map. Click the tool to activate it. A window displays prompting the user to click on the map to start the measure.

Begin drawing the area to measure, as directed. Keep clicking to define the polygon and then double-click to end it. As soon as a second vertex is added, the Measurement window displays showing a dynamic calculation that updates as the cursor moves.
Click New Measurement to reset the drawn polygon and begin a new measurement.
Use the Unit drop down list to set the measurement units (e.g., square feet, square meters, acres, etc.).
